About

Greetings and salutations, one and all!

I'm Jen and this is my blog.  There are lots of different kinds of blogs out there: fashion blogs, shopping blogs, daily outfit blogs, photography blogs, chic on the cheap blogs, omg-this-is-so-cute-I-want-three-of-them blogs.  I shamelessly read them all.

I'm going to do my best not to make this blog out to be anything it's not.  I promise not to try so hard to make it be one thing or another.  Having said that, it may become one or all of the above mentioned blogs at any given time, but I'll do my best to just let it be what it is.  Read it or don't; regardless, you'll always be welcome here.

Here is the requisite selfie of me in my bathroom. Why, yes, that is James Taylor over my shoulder, how attentive of you to ask.

(I would have posted a better picture but I realized that, since I am the photographer in the family, there are very few pictures with me in them. However, that means there are about eleventy billion of Sarge.)

Speaking of Sarge (not his real name--only his "code" blogging name, muahaha), I married him in June 2009. He rescued me from what could easily have turned into the life of a hermit, with 12 cats and dirty kleenex shoved up my cardigan sleeves. Thankfully, he puts up with my random crying and edible-at-best cooking skills, among other things.  We have a sassy Boston Terrier named Stella, who keeps us mostly out of trouble.

Sarge also encourages my creativity, which is where this blog comes in. I love to create! I'm visually easy to please, if that makes any sense--if it's pretty, I like it. If it's not, I usually don't. It's rather simple, really. My definition of pretty might not be the same as yours, but that's ok.  We can still be friends.

A little more about me: I have a degree in English, but haven't really used it. I've worked at a coffee shop, a library, a medical clinic and a wine bar (for about four hours).  I currently work at a bridal boutique, but not actually with brides--I specialize in men.  Or, tuxedos, rather; although I've dabbled in other departments.  I love reading, photography, running, fashion, thrifting, vintage, crocheting, sewing, weekends at the cabin, beer, Funfetti cake with lots of frosting, Trader Joe's, sarcasm and critters of most varieties (hence the above mentioned "puppy dog" voice. Details on that at another time). I don't love inattentive drivers, feet, snakes, seafood, being far away from my best friends, doing the dishes, mustard, and shaving my legs (I do it anyway).

I think that's all you need to know for now. And I know there's more to come.
